Credits

Credits are what the expensive things cost: running a real browser on a job board, and asking a language model to write something. Everything else in Smart Job Seeker is free to use.

Nothing here is charged per seat or per application. You spend on the two things that cost us money, and you can see exactly where it went.

What costs credits

Running a job search. A run is metered by what it actually did, not a flat fee:

  • 2 to start
  • 1 for every job it brings in
  • 1 for every 30 seconds of browser time — doubled if you're using a cloud browser rather than your own device
  • 3 more if it had to log in for you

You need at least 15 credits available before a run will start, because a run that dies halfway through is worse than one that doesn't begin. The final charge is usually less than that.

AI writing. Cover letters, application answers, project stories, cheat sheets, assistant messages, reviews and follow-ups are all charged the same way: 1 credit per 10,000 tokens the model actually processed — roughly, per 7,500 words in and out combined. A short question costs less than a long one; a cover letter written against a detailed job description costs more than one against a two-line posting. You need at least 5 credits available to start any of them.

PDF export costs 1 credit per document.

What doesn't

Everything that isn't a browser run or a model call:

  • Browsing jobs, and matching them against your profile
  • Editing your profile, your CV versions, and everything on them
  • Tracking applications and logging activity
  • Viewing and sharing documents in the browser
  • Exporting your data, and importing it
  • Applying a change the assistant suggested

Asking for Import Task suggestions is a model call and is charged like the AI writing above — usually a single credit. Creating a task is free; running it is the step that starts spending, because that's the step that runs a browser.

Spending less

  • Tighten your Import Task filters. A search that returns 200 jobs costs 200 credits in job charges alone, and you will read maybe five of them. A narrow search is cheaper and better.
  • Use your own device rather than a cloud browser — browser time is billed at half the rate.
  • Turn on community jobs in Match Config. Scoring a job somebody else already imported costs a fraction of importing it yourself.
  • Give the AI a good profile. The expensive part of a bad cover letter is regenerating it three times.
